From the courtroom to the mediation table

Andre A. Rouviere has practiced law in Florida since October 1989. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and has spent more than three decades as a trial attorney handling civil litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense matters across South Florida.

Over the course of those years, Andre noticed a pattern. Many matters that went to trial could have been resolved earlier through structured conversation between the parties. That observation led him to mediation.

Becoming a certified mediator

In 2023, Andre completed the certification process administered by the Florida Dispute Resolution Center. He is now a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator, authorized to mediate civil matters in all judicial circuits of the state. He has conducted more than 150 mediations.

The work is fundamentally different from advocacy. As a mediator, Andre does not represent either party. He has no client to win for. His role is to create conditions in which the parties themselves can find their way to a resolution.

What clients can expect

Andre’s mediation practice is boutique by design. Every mediation is conducted personally by him. Parties work directly with the certified mediator from scheduling through resolution.

The process is private and confidential under Florida Statutes Chapter 44. Communications during mediation cannot be used as evidence in court, so parties can speak openly about what would actually resolve the matter. Sessions are structured but unhurried. Resolution emerges when it is ready, on a timeline the parties set themselves.

Andre A. Rouviere
The Approach

Three principles that shape every mediation

i.

Genuine neutrality

A mediator facilitates. Andre helps parties have a clear conversation about the underlying interests at stake, so they can explore possible paths to resolution. He does not represent either side, and he does not impose outcomes.

ii.

Honest expectation-setting

With more than three decades of trial experience, Andre understands what going to court actually involves in time, cost, and uncertainty. That perspective helps parties evaluate settlement options realistically against the practical reality of litigation.

iii.

Disciplined confidentiality

Mediation is private and confidential under Florida Statutes Chapter 44. Nothing said in mediation can be used as evidence in court. That confidentiality is fundamental to how the process works, and Andre treats it accordingly.
